One of my all time favourite live artists, Will Oldham, or Bonnie “Prince” Billy if you prefer, is as prolific as he is lyrical. When I first heard a Bonnie “Prince” Billy record I didn’t immediately like it, and I think that’s probably the case for many. Once the subtle beauty of the music seeps into your brain though, there’s no going back… Will Oldham’s recorded under many a pseudonym, including Bonnie “Prince” Billy (as mentioned), Palace Music, Palace and Palace Brothers. There may well be others, but those are the names I know of, and from that output I’ve pulled together this introduction to his back catalogue.
